Practice with Sample Jobs

Practice Using Dispatch, Send Sample Jobs!

Your contact info will be used as the "customer" when you click the "Send Sample" button.
Send yourself as many sample jobs as you'd like to help you get comfortable.

A great way to practice using the Dispatch platform is to send yourself a sample job. You can automatically send yourself a sample job via the Dispatch system at any time. You can use sample jobs to practice functions such as scheduling and completing a job, and you can also use this process to see what notifications a customer would normally receive during the scheduling process.

After logging into Dispatch, click the blue Send Sample button at the bottom of the screen.

If you already have jobs in your job list, you can find the Send Sample button at the very bottom of the page.

After clicking the button, you will see a popup that explains that your email and mobile number will be used as the customer's info for this sample job. This will allow you to receive and view notifications just as the customer would for a real job.

When ready, click Send to send this sample job to your Jobs List and Schedule page. After clicking Send, you will see the new job in offered status with the title "Demo Job" under New Offers. This demo job will also appear under the Alerts tab for any Dispatcher or "Both" who is using the Dispatch Manager mobile app.

From there, you can click to open this job and practice various job functions. We suggest trying out the following functions:

  • Accepting and/or Declining a job
  • Scheduling an appointment and assigning technicians
  • Adding notes, photos, and other attachments
  • Editing customer info, Job Titles, and Job Descriptions
  • Starting and completing an appointment
  • Pausing a job
  • Completing a job

For more information on how to take these functions, we suggest checking out our articles on Scheduling an Appointment, Adding Notes, Photos, and Labels to a Job, and Completing an Appointment.

NOTE: A demo job will still show on technician's schedules, so be sure to let any assigned technicians know that they may see a practice job on their schedule.

You can send additional Demo Jobs at any time using the Send Sample button.

Throughout this process, you can also see what email and text notifications a customer would receive by checking the email and phone number associated with the demo job.

We suggest checking your email and texts after scheduling the job, after starting an appointment, and after completing a job. These are circumstances where we would send notifications to a customer.

For more information on customer notifications, we suggest checking out our article on Understanding the Customer Portal.
