Checking your phone's OS (Operating System) version

Dispatch is only compatible with certain operating systems and devices. For more on what is supported, see this  article outlining our supported OS's and Devices. In the article below we'll go over how to check your device's current operating system and version.

Article Sections

  1. iOS
  2. Android

*For either, if it's more than 2 versions old, Dispatch may not work. (i.e. if 11.2 is the latest, anything before 9.2 might cause problems.)

iPhone/iOS

Locate the Settings icon on your phone's main screen, and tap it. (Note: the settings icon may be located and appear Slightly different depending on the installed version of iOS)

Scroll to find the option that says  General.

Scroll to find the option that says
About or About Phone.

Scroll until you see the line called Version. That's where you’ll find your OS version. If it's is 8.3 or newer, Dispatch will work. Anything older may not allow Dispatch to work properly on your phone.

Android

Open the phone's "App Drawer" or Menu to view your apps.

Locate the Settings icon on your phone's main screen, and tap it. (The settings icon may be located and appear slightly different depending on the installed version of your OS.)

Scroll to find the option that says General. (Depending on your device, there may be a "General" tab toward the top of your screen that you can get to by swiping left or right.)

Find and tap About Phone or About Device.

You'll find the Android Version under Software Info.
